The blessings of Christmas are many,
more than words can express,
Enough to fill every longing heart
with untold happiness.
And the greatest of all blessings
is the Christmas revelation
That Jesus Christ was born this day
to bring the world salvation.
And that is why this message
is written here to say
That you are wished the blessings
of the holy Christmas Day.
God sent the little Christ child
so men might understand
That a little child shall lead them
to that unknown Promised Land.
For God in His great wisdom
knew that men would rise to power
And forget His holy precepts
in their great triumphal hour.
He knew that they would question
and doubt the holy birth
And turn their time and talents
to the pleasures of this earth.
But every new discovery
Is an open avenue
To more and greater mysteries,
and man's search is never through.
For man can never fathom
the mysteries of the Lord
Or understand His promise
of a heavenly reward.
For no one but a little child
with simple faith and love
Can lead man's straying footsteps
to higher realms above!
Christmas is the miracle of Christ's birth_
a virgin conceiving, miraculous and amazing,
a star shining, angels praising,
shepherds kneeling, throngs adoring,
joy increasing, spirits soaring.
VJR
Now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way. When his mother
Mary had been betrothed to Joseph, before they came together she
was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit; and her husband Joseph,
being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame, resolved to
divorce her quietly. But as he considered this, behold, an angel of the
Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do
not fear to take Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is
of the Holy Spirit; she will bear a son, and you shall call his name
Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins." All this took place to
fulfil what the Lord had spoken by the prophet:
"Behold, a virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and his name shall be called Emmanuel"
(which means, God with us). When Joseph woke from sleep, he did as
the angel of the Lord commanded him; he took his wife, but knew her
not until she had borne a son; and he called his name Jesus.
